SpaceX founder and chief executive Elon Musk announced a major initiative: the world’s richest person pledged to give one share of his company to every child in America. Musk posted the pledge on his X account and said the charitable program is scheduled to begin in 2027. He did not disclose technical details or the precise mechanism for transferring the shares, adding only that this will be just the beginning.
Meanwhile, leadership at another major US tech player, Anthropic, said it will transfer 5% of its shares into a dedicated public‑benefit fund. Those assets are intended to be allocated to nonprofits and community groups for socially valuable projects. The company said the fund’s stake will grow dynamically: for every 50% increase in the company’s market value above a set threshold, an additional 2% of equity will be contributed.
Anthropic officials stressed that the fund will not be used for political purposes or to lobby corporate interests. The initiative comes ahead of a planned large‑scale IPO: Anthropic intends to go public in the coming months in what is already being billed as one of the largest tech listings. SpaceX itself completed a public listing in June of this year.
