iPhone 14 to be more expensive than iPhone 13

AppleInsider reported that the iPhone 14 would be one of the most expensive Apple’s smartphones due to a shortage of semiconductors.

According to preliminary estimates, the iPhone 14 could cost $100 more than its predecessor iPhone 13.

Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives said that prices for parts needed to make the iPhone had increased across the supply chain. Consequently, the company management passed rising costs on to customers.

This year, the price of the base iPhone 14 starts at $899. Moreover, the iPhone 14 Pro could surge to $1,099. AppleInsider estimates that the price of the iPhone 14 Pro Max will start at a record $1,199.

Notably, Apple is not the only company that has to raise prices of its devices due to a shortage of semiconductors. Earlier, in May 2022, Samsung followed suit and increased prices by 20% on its own chips.
