Finland Producer Inflation Hits 3-Month High

Finland’s producer prices rose by 7.3% year-on-year in August 2026, up from 6.9% in July and marking the strongest increase since May 2026. The acceleration was largely driven by faster price growth in manufacturing (8.2% vs. 7.6% in July), especially in refined petroleum products and basic metals. Significant contributions also came from computer, electronic and optical products (19.3%), basic metals (13.4%) and rubber and plastic products (9.2%).

Producer price inflation in mining and quarrying also picked up (12.1% vs. 11.9%). By contrast, prices in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply declined further (-5.4% vs. -4.2%), while the pace of increase in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation services moderated (10.9% vs. 11.5%). On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 1.2%, following a 0.1% increase in the previous month.
