US Futures Rise on Monday

US equity futures advanced on Monday, supported by a rebound in Treasury markets. The S&P 500 gained 0.6%, the Nasdaq 100 edged higher, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed more than 400 points. Risk sentiment improved after the US opted not to carry out strikes on Iran over the weekend, prompting a pullback in oil prices.

The retreat in energy prices helped drive yields lower across the curve, as markets recalibrated inflation expectations. This, in turn, buoyed credit‑sensitive sectors in the equity market. Bank holding companies traded higher in premarket activity, with JPMorgan, Bank of America, and Goldman Sachs each up about 1%.

In healthcare, Bristol‑Myers Squibb jumped nearly 10% following reports that it may be a takeover target for AstraZeneca. Semiconductor stocks remained volatile as investors repeatedly reassessed speculative positioning and highly leveraged players were forced to unwind at likely discounts. Memory chip makers led the sector lower, with Micron and SanDisk both falling more than 3%. Elsewhere in technology, SpaceX and AMD were down about 1% ahead of their earnings releases scheduled for tomorrow.
