Net foreign acquisitions of long-term securities, short-term U.S. securities, and banking flows generated a total net TIC inflow of $133.5 billion in June 2026. Net foreign private inflows amounted to $85.0 billion, while official inflows reached $48.4 billion. Foreign residents increased their holdings of long-term U.S. securities, with net purchases of $207.1 billion. Of this amount, private foreign investors accounted for $169.8 billion, and official institutions purchased $37.3 billion. U.S. residents also expanded their holdings of long-term foreign securities, with net purchases of $34.4 billion. After adjustments, total net foreign purchases of long-term securities were estimated at $172.7 billion in June. Foreign residents reduced their holdings of U.S. Treasury bills by $29.0 billion, and their holdings of dollar-denominated short-term U.S. securities and other custody liabilities declined by $4.9 billion.
