Thailand Inflation Rises Below Expectations

Thailand’s annual inflation rate accelerated to 2.82% in September 2026 from 2.53% in August, although it remained below market expectations of 3.10%. Even so, it was the highest reading since April and brought inflation close to the upper bound of the Bank of Thailand’s target range of 1%–3%. At the same time, annual core inflation increased to 1.50%—its highest level since May 2023—up from 1.44% in August but still slightly under the market consensus of 1.54%.
