Singapore’s unemployment rate inched up to 2.0% in the third quarter of 2026, slightly higher than the 1.9% recorded in the second quarter of 2026. The latest figure, updated on 30 October 2026, marks a modest reversal after the previous period’s lower jobless level.
While the increase is small, the move from 1.9% to 2.0% suggests some softening at the margins of the labour market during the third quarter. Nonetheless, at around 2%, unemployment in Singapore remains relatively low by international standards, indicating that overall labour conditions are still comparatively tight despite the recent uptick.
