Singapore Manufacturing Growth Slows in October

Singapore’s Manufacturing PMI edged down to 51.4 in October 2026 from 51.7 in September, marking a 15th straight month of expansion but at a more moderate pace, as growth in new orders, factory output, input inventories, and employment all eased. The Electronics PMI, which represents over one-third of total manufacturing output, slipped to 52.5 from 52.9, yet remained firmly supported by AI-related demand. Notably, the sector’s new export orders index rose to 53.2, its highest level since May 2018. Imports and order backlogs continued to grow but at a slower rate, while new export orders and input prices saw a slight pickup. At the same time, finished goods inventories declined more gradually, and supplier delivery times shortened significantly, pointing to reduced delivery delays, although renewed shipping disruptions in the Middle East could still constrain production ahead.
