European Stocks Poised to Open Flat

European equity markets are expected to see minimal fluctuations on Tuesday, following slight increases in the previous session. As trading activities decelerate ahead of the New Year’s holiday, investors are attentively evaluating the likelihood of further easing of Federal Reserve policies in 2026. Insight into these prospects is anticipated from the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) minutes, which are set to be released later today. Meanwhile, geopolitical tensions remain a focal point, particularly with renewed uncertainty in the Ukraine peace process. Russia has accused Ukraine of attacking President Putin's residence, although this claim has not been substantiated with evidence, potentially hindering US-mediated peace negotiations. In pre-market activity, the Euro Stoxx 50 and Stoxx 600 futures remained relatively steady. Both indices are on track to conclude the year strongly, with approximately 18% gains.
