World Food Prices Fall for 5th Month

The FAO Food Price Index decreased by 0.4% to 123.9 points in January 2026, reflecting the fifth straight month of decline and reaching its lowest point since August 2024, down from 124.3 points recorded in December. This reduction was primarily influenced by reduced prices for dairy products, meat, and sugar, which outweighed the price increases seen in cereals and vegetable oils.
