Poland’s GDP Growth Cools to 3.4% in Q1 2026, Easing From 4.0% at End-2025

Poland’s economy expanded by 3.4% year-over-year in the first quarter of 2026, slowing from a 4.0% annual growth rate recorded in the fourth quarter of 2025. The latest figures, updated on 14 May 2026, indicate a moderation in momentum at the start of the year.

Both readings are calculated on a year-over-year basis, comparing each quarter to the same period a year earlier. The previous 4.0% figure reflected growth in the fourth quarter of 2025 versus the fourth quarter of 2024, while the current 3.4% rate compares the first quarter of 2026 with the first quarter of 2025.

The easing in growth suggests that while Poland remains on an expansionary path, the pace of economic activity has softened as 2026 begins, potentially signaling a more measured trajectory after the stronger finish to 2025.
