Norway’s PPI Inflation Accelerates to 24.0% YoY in May, Extending Upward Trend

Norway’s Producer Price Index (PPI) rose 24.0% year-over-year in May 2026, up from 22.7% in April 2026, according to data updated on 9 June 2026. The latest reading signals a further acceleration in price pressures at the producer level, as the increase in May is measured against the same month a year earlier, consistent with the year-over-year comparison methodology.

The previous figure for April 2026, at 22.7% year-over-year, had already indicated strong cost growth for producers. May’s higher 24.0% reading reinforces the trend of elevated input and output prices in the Norwegian economy, suggesting that pipeline inflationary pressures remain pronounced when compared with the same period in the prior year.
