Switzerland’s producer price index (PPI) remained in negative territory in April 2026, but the pace of decline eased compared with the previous month, according to data updated on 12 May 2026.
On a year-over-year basis, Swiss PPI stood at -2.0% in April, improving from -2.7% in March 2026. Both figures compare price levels in each respective month to the same month a year earlier. The data indicate that while producer prices are still falling versus a year ago, the downward pressure on prices is less intense than it was in March.
The moderation in producer price deflation may suggest some stabilization in cost pressures for Swiss manufacturers, even though the overall price environment at the factory gate remains weak on an annual comparison basis.
