China’s RatingDog Manufacturing PMI Slips Marginally in October, Holds Above Expansion Threshold

China’s manufacturing activity, as tracked by the RatingDog Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), eased slightly in October 2026 but remained in expansionary territory. The index edged down to 52.0 in October from 52.1 in September 2026, according to data updated on 2 November 2026.

The modest 0.1-point decline suggests a small cooling in momentum, yet the indicator’s position above the 50-point threshold continues to signal expansion in the sector. The back-to-back readings above 52 indicate that, despite the marginal softening in October, China’s manufacturing base has maintained a broadly positive trajectory through early autumn 2026.
