US Futures Edge Higher Following Record Close

US stock futures inched higher on Wednesday, following fresh record closes for the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite in the previous session, driven by persistent strength in technology shares. On Tuesday, the S&P 500 rose 0.61% and the Nasdaq Composite jumped 1.19%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.23%.

Six of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors finished in positive territory, led by technology, industrials and materials. Energy, consumer staples and healthcare logged the steepest declines.

Investors also remained cautiously optimistic that the US and Iran could still reach an agreement despite escalating tensions in the Middle East.

In extended trading, Zscaler sank more than 20% after issuing revenue guidance for the current quarter that fell short of expectations. Market participants are now awaiting earnings reports from Salesforce, Synopsys, Agilent Technologies, HP and Dick's Sporting Goods later on Wednesday.
