European Economic News Preview: Eurozone Foreign Trade Data Due

Foreign trade and current account reports from the euro area are the key economic highlights slated for Tuesday.

At 2:00 AM ET, Destatis will release Germany’s producer price data for April. Economists anticipate a 3.2% annual decline, following a 2.9% decrease in March.

At 4:00 AM ET, the European Central Bank will publish the euro area current account figures for March. Projections suggest the current account surplus will increase to EUR 30.2 billion from EUR 29.5 billion in February.

At 5:00 AM ET, Eurostat will present the euro area foreign trade data for March. Analysts forecast the trade surplus to decrease to EUR 19.9 billion from EUR 23.6 billion in February.

At 6:00 AM ET, the Confederation of British Industry will release its monthly Industrial Trends survey data.

At 8:00 AM ET, Hungary's central bank will announce its monetary policy decision, with expectations pointing towards a 50 basis point rate cut.
