Ibovespa Rebounds at Week's End

The Ibovespa index concluded trading on Friday with a 0.5% increase, reaching 182,950, as gains in specific cyclical and domestic stocks counterbalanced persistent caution surrounding the banking sector. The financial sector continued to weigh down the index, with Bradesco declining further due to its conservative guidance for 2026 overshadowing strong recent performance. Similarly, Banco do Brasil and Santander Brasil experienced slight decreases. However, Itaúsa surged nearly 3% and B3 climbed over 4.5%, lending support to the index. Petrobras saw a slight decline in tandem with volatile oil prices in anticipation of U.S.-Iran discussions in Oman, and Vale dropped despite recent positive brokerage reviews. In other sectors, Eletrobras rose by over 1%, and Embraer made modest gains. On the macroeconomic front, the Finance Ministry adjusted its growth forecast for 2026 slightly downward while increasing its inflation expectations, contributing to a mixed policy environment. Overall, the index managed to close the session with a 0.5% gain.
