FSTE 100 Edges Up for 3rd Day

The FTSE 100 finished higher on Thursday, marking a third consecutive session of gains, underpinned by strength in mining and energy stocks. Gold producers Fresnillo and Endeavour Mining rose 3.7% and 2.6%, respectively, while Rio Tinto advanced more than 1.5%. Oil majors also lent support, with BP climbing 2.5% and Shell up 0.7% as crude prices increased. These advances were partially offset by a sharp drop in JD Sports, which slumped more than 14% after cutting its profit guidance amid challenging second-quarter trading conditions. At the same time, the uptick in oil prices reignited inflation concerns, and the recent rally in government bonds faded, with yields moving higher once again.
