Spain’s industrial production rose by 1.5% year-on-year in August 2026, easing from a revised 2.5% increase in July. Output in the energy sector posted the strongest advance, up 4.7%, followed by intermediate goods (2%) and capital goods (0.9%). In contrast, production of consumer goods fell by 1%.
On a monthly basis, industrial production declined by 0.7% in August, offsetting the 0.6% gain recorded in July. Durable consumer goods was the only segment to register monthly growth, with output up 1%, while energy saw the steepest drop, down 2%.
