Spain’s Retail Sales Decline Further in September

Spain’s retail sales declined by 1.4% year over year in September 2026, deepening from a revised 0.5% drop in August. In contrast, demand for cultural and recreational goods increased by 9.6%, while sales of information and communication equipment rose 4.4%. Online sales continued to expand, though at a slower pace, easing to 4.5% growth compared with 6.6% in August.
