Bounce ahead of Fed decision

Today, Bitcoin rose to $81,687 and approached $82,000 after dipping below $80,000 yesterday. That is about a 2.5% gain from $79,700. The move was supported by buy orders that, according to CoinGlass, clustered around $79,000 and $80,000.

The strongest influence on risk sentiment came from Asian equities. South Korea's Kospi closed Wednesday up 6.6%, back above 6,000, and tech stocks nearly recovered early-October losses. That matters for crypto because weakness in the AI sector has dragged Bitcoin lower in recent weeks.

Market participants remain cautious. Rekt Capital compared Bitcoin's weekly structure to the 2022 bear market and warned it is unclear whether the pair will form a new range above resistance near $82,000. Some argue that until Bitcoin decisively clears the 60k–80k channel, its upside is very limited. Given we are at the channel's upper boundary, today's Fed statements could weigh on further gains in the flagship crypto.

I think the next few hours hinge on Kevin Warsh's rhetoric. If the market gets a dovish, wait-and-see tone, Bitcoin could break $82,200, hold above it, and target $83,000 and then $85,000. If Warsh again clearly flags a December hike, even a strong Kospi will not sustain the bounce, and I allow a drop back to the $80,000 bid cluster and then $79,000, which would open a path to $76,000 and $73,000.

Technical picture for Bitcoin

Price trades near $81,600 in a corridor between support at $81,200 and resistance at $81,600, with outer markers at $80,500 below and $82,200 above. The plan is built around two mirror scenarios, each with breakout and rejection variants. For long, I consider two entries. First, a break above $81,600 with confirmation: buy targeting $82,200, provided price stays above the 50-day MA and Awesome > 0; take profit at the target and consider a short on the retracement. Second, if a drop below $81,200 fails and the price returns above, buy the bounce with the initial target of $81,600 and then $82,200.

Sells are symmetric. A confirmed break below $81,200 opens a short toward $80,500, but only when the MA is above price and Awesome < 0. If a break above $81,600 fails and the price returns below, sell the rejection targeting $81,200 and then $80,500.

Technical picture for Ether

The logic mirrors Bitcoin on its own scale. The corridor lies between support $2,356 and resistance $2,372, with outer markers $2,327 below and $2,397 above. Buy a confirmed break above $2,372 targeting $2,397, provided the price is > 50-day MA and Awesome > 0. If a drop below $2,356 fails and the price returns above, buy the bounce targeting $2,372 and then $2,397.

Sell a confirmed break below $2,356 toward $2,327 when the MA is above price and Awesome < 0. If a break above $2,372 fails and the price returns below, sell the rejection targeting $2,356 and then $2,327. Both indicators are filters to avoid false moves and not standalone entry signals; trades are taken only after the price confirms the specified levels.
