Austria receives 15% lower gas supply from Russia

The Viennese edition Die Presse reported Austria received 15% less Russian gas on September 11.
According to E-Control Executive Director Walter Boltz, fluctuations in gas supplies are quite common, but as a rule Russia swiftly reacts and gives explanations. This time Moscow provided no response so Austria has no idea about the factors affecting the supply.
Vienna’s officials claim there is no reason for concern as the country has enough gas reserves to avoid the deficit.
It is interesting to note that other countries reported insufficient gas supplies on September 11.
In summer, Gazprom repeatedly expressed indignation over reverse gas flows to Ukraine by some European nations and had not denied that gas supplies to these countries may be reduced.
