Twitter rolls out 'buy' button

Twitter has launched the test mode of its ‘buy’ button. The new option is available to a trial group of US users. The service enables account holders to purchase products directly from their social media feeds. If successful, the feature will run on both Android and iOS.
According to the developers, the innovation is primarily geared toward those users who are interested in this product. So it will be much easier for the company to find the final buyer. Twitter is partnering with experienced online content sellers to develop the concept, who take into account the user profile. They are Fancy, Gumroad, and Musictoday.
As for the payment platform, a reliable product of payments company Stripe was chosen. So far, the new opportunity is available to a limited number of proven Twitter users. Accounts that belong to small group of brands, artists, and non-profit organizations are among the lucky ones to benefit from the function. The first ones to be sold on Twitter include clothing manufacturer Burberry and artist Eminem. Clicking the ‘buy’ button, the user receives additional information on a product and is offered to confirm the purchase. After the payment details and confirmation are entered, the selling mechanism is launched. But Twitter is not the only social site testing ‘buy’ buttons. Back in July, Facebook announced that it was testing similar functionality on its platform.
