Facebook has been testing a new version of the social network designed for use in the workplace. Upcoming service called ‘Facebook at Work’ is expected to rival Microsoft Office, LinkedIn, and Google Drive.
Facebook’s new product is geared towards business communication and corporate collaboration, with office workers as its target audience. The service will enable co-workers to chat with each another, as well as to create and share files with business associates.
According to the unnamed source, the service would allow users to message their colleagues, connect with other people in their professional network, and collaborate on work without vacation photos, statements about politics and stupid videos.
In addition, according to developers, interface of the new network will resemble Facebook’s one. Particularly, there will be the list of contacts and timeline. It is noteworthy that the upcoming product long existed as an internal corporate network for Facebook’s employees, but later it was proposed to be publicly available.
