Germany to channel €89 billion into EU investment package

The German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung referring to the list of the European initiatives, said that Germany intends to channel €89 billion into the investment package planned by the European Commission (EC).
The EC is to support projects in such spheres as transportation, Internet, energy production, environmental conservation, education and scientific research. The total value of the investment package makes up €315 billion.
According to the source, the largest part of the German investments – almost €24 billion – will be allocated for the development of the nationwide high-speed Internet access. About €13.5 billion will be directed to the development of the wind energy production and €9.8 billion – to the Autobahn expansion.
