The investment company’s group Tencent (China) has launched the world's first online bank. The new financial institution is called WeBank and probably it will be the first private bank in China. The main task of the bank is to make loans more affordable especially for small businesses. This segment of business is not very developed in the country. State-owned banks are rarely interested in such projects and they often refused credit granting to novice entrepreneurs. In recent years, the government pays close attention to small business and tries to encourage initiatives aimed at its support. That is why the project of the Tencent Corporation was approved by Chinese authorities. In the beginning of 2014, the private company got all required state licenses to carry on business of executing mutually beneficial transactions such as credit granting activities and insurance programs opening. All WeBank activity will be exclusively performed in the Internet. A particular attention will be given to the functions of control and security, special programs on recognizing individuals and customer's credit history will keep a close watch on it. Small business is an integral part of successful economic growth. Currently, it can count on significant improvements in loan services. The first loan in amount of 35,000 yuan ($5,600) has been issued by the bank to a driver.
