On January 17, the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange dismissed WSE President Ludwik Sobolewski, Gazeta Wyborcza informed. Since late December 2012, Adam Maciejewski has been Vice President and acting President of the WSE Management Board.
Ludwik Sobolewski forfeited his office on December 21. This was what Poland's Treasury Minister Mikolaj Budzanowski demanded after the compromising material was released.
At the end of December, Puls Biznesu published an article informing that WSE CEO, via his assistant, offered WSE-traded companies to provide money for filming the Last Minute movie directed by Patrick Vega and starring Ludwik’s mistress Anna Szarek. The WSE top managers and Mikolaj Budzanowski considered the behaviour of Ludwik Sobolewski unethical. Poland's Treasury Minister even asked the law enforcement authorities to initiate a corruption case against former WSE CEO. In his turn, Mr Sobolewski denied charges with pressurizing the investors. However, he admitted that he did pull strings to promote Vega’s movie and that he could hardly be a good example for others to follow in terms of ethics.
