Italian design duo of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana is not happy about the prospect of presenting their next collection from a prison ward. These powerful people in the fashion industry have been condemned to jail for the €1 billion tax evasion. At the last week’s hearing the fashion designers were found guilty. According to the WWB, after the public prosecutor's speech the judge announced the decision: Dolce&Gabbana founders were sentenced to 20 months of prison. The investigation had started about a year ago. The officials found out that the famous couturiers were concealing their income in 2004-2005. To avoid Italian taxes, Mr Dolce and Mr Gabbana used a holding company in Luxembourg. The prosecutor called for the pair to be send down for 2 years and 6 months; the judge has partially satisfied his claim. In their turn, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana do not agree with the verdict and are intending to lodge an appeal.
