According to the National Bureau of Credit Histories, young people aged 24 or less are the most deliberate defaulters in Russia. The payments of 15% of the youth, who received a loan, are more than 30 days in arrears. The overdue credits among the borrowers between the ages of 25 and 34 are estimated at 14%, at the age of 35-44 and 45-49 amounted to 12% and 10% correspondingly. The citizens advanced in years are the most reliable ones. In particularly, only 8% of the borrowers aged 60 or over have arrears.
Despite the fact that the number of borrowers among the young people under 24 years old has increased by 1% in comparison with the previous year, the total amount of granted loans has declined considerably. In June, 2012 the growth among individual borrowers showed 40.6%, this year that indicator got only 36.9%.
Meanwhile, the Russian population is expressing more and more interest in the mortgage loans which were given to 149,825 Russian citizens this year. The consumer and auto loans, which dropped by 8.25% and 8.81% correspondingly, did not create such a demand.
