Dow Jones и S&P hit record highs

On Friday the American stock indices Dow Jones and S&P closed at record highs, Agence France-Presse says. The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 30.34 points to 15,658.36, while S&P 500 climbed to 1709.67 that is 2.8 points more than the day before.
The Nasdaq Composite Index has not achieved yet the level of its historical high, although it ended by 13.84 points higher at 3689.59.
Even the rather disappointing report on unemployment in the United States that was released on August 2 did not affect the quotes of the American stock exchanges. According to the above-mentioned report, the number of new created workplaces was 14,000 less than expected.
At the close of trading Facebook shares for the first time ever managed to exceed their offering price of $38 and get $38.05. Facebook held IPO (initial public offering) on May 18, 2012. On August 2 at the Over-The-Counter market, where on July 31 the shares exceeded their placing price for the first time, Facebook stocks were estimated at $38.49. The stock analysts think that such price growth of Facebook was triggered by the company’s report on advertising income that went beyond the expectations.
