Notorious Russian striker in trouble

At last, the occasion that Russian football fans have been longing for has actually come to pass: Kerzhakov is in trouble! This time, “the most well-aimed” front man in Russia got in on a bubble scheme and lost 330 million rubles. Unfortunately, football players are not yet bound to refund the money spent on them back to tax payers. This amount just disappeared from the footballer’s personal bank account. The management of FC Zenit Saint Petersburg being also in charge with Gazprombank, where the athlete has been keeping his savings, has been doing nothing with the issue for a good while. So, Alexander Kerzhakov being dissatisfied with such a state of affairs, spoke out before the public about his readiness to quit Zenit football club. At the start of the year, it got clear that that the money was missing; it emerged later on that bank orders and bank statements were certified by a forged signature. Alexander thinks that the money was transferred to Mikhail Surin’s account in whose business the football player had earlier invested 100 million rubles. The bank representatives clearly outlined their attitude. “The money from Kerzhakov’s account was transferred to his business partners; moreover, it was being done not just once, but within a long period. Being a VIP client, he gave orders himself to bank’s staffers,” said Dmitry Shevchenko, the Legal Manager of joint-stock bank Lanta – Bank. The investigating authority has already got involved in the fact-finding on this case.
