West’s economy nosediving but Russian economy thriving

In the eyes of Russia’s Economic Development Minister Alexey Ulyukaev, everything is actually better than just all right in Russia, things are even fine here and there; those who claim the opposite are simply envious. “There is no recession. There will not be. Sluggishness could be an appropriate term. As for a low pace of growth, such factor is institutional, structural, and microeconomic. It is the thing we have to deal with for a good while. Our structural and social matrix is able to keep the expansion rate at about 3%,” Alexey Ulyukaev stated in the interview to Kommersant newspaper. According to the head economic wizard, the environment for developing business in the country is a most advantageous. If business is eased from red-tape complexity, and also charges related to social commitment, energy prices, and transport services, then the radiant future is due to come. The only problem is that such ideas have already been mentioned more than once. Nowadays, each statesman regards as a mandate “to support” the medium-sized business, to express in word empathy apropos corruption, bureaucracy, and abuse of power from local officials. Then, journalists turn off camcorders and politicians instantly forget what they were talking about. In fact, the real support has never existed and apparently it will never be in practice. Policymakers report an improving economic landscape, tax perks, and administrative benefits for entrepreneurs; however, the actual situation is too far from the reality. Russian entrepreneurs’ routine is still challenging due to a vast number of normative standards, reporting requirements, and list-registers. Such a burden virtually makes any business dependent on permitting authorities.
