Australia to ease coronavirus restrictions

As many countries around the globe are easing the coronavirus restrictions, Australia also aims to lift some. Despite the fact that the virus still poses a threat to the country, the Australian government has decided to reopen the coronavirus-hit economy. "We need to restart our economy. We need to restart our society. We can't keep Australia under the doona," PM Scott Morrison pointed out. Many economists praised Morrison’s decision saying that any delay would only make the situation even worse. Besides, the number of people infected with coronavirus in the country is relatively small - about 7 thousand people and a daily increase in new cases also remains in double-digits. In some regions, there have been no new cases for several weeks. Naturally, the government does not intend to remove all restrictions at once but only to soften them. The gradual removal of restrictions will take place in parallel with the mandatory installation of specially designed apps on mobile devices. Some of them are already available for the download, e.g. an app that allows a person to track clusters of coronavirus infection. It has already been installed by about 4 million Australians.
