Number of international migrants is 232 mln

According to new UN data, the Russian Federation is ranked second with 11 million migrants. Constant growth of the migrant workers on the Russia’s territory has reached the limits and the stream is never-ending. The number of migrants around the world rose above 232 million in 2013, which is only 3.2% of the current world population. The US tops the list of the countries where the residents of the neighbor countries are willing to live with an estimated 45.8 million. Germany is ranked third with 9.8 million people, then go the following countries Saudi Arabia with 9.1 million, and the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom both with 7.8 million. France with 7.4 million, Canada with 7.3 million, and Australia and Spain with both 6.5 million are also in top 10. For several decades, the border between the United States and Mexico has been keeping the leading position in terms of crossing; there are about 13 million migrants from the United Mexican States in the US in 2013. Such migration corridors as Russia-Ukraine with 3.5 million migrants, Ukraine-Russia with 2.9 million and Kazakhstan-Russia with 2.5 million are in top 10. The number of international migrants living in Europe and Asia is almost equal, with Europe hosting 72 million and Asia 71 million in 2013, the UN report said. Since 2000, Asia has observed the largest increase of international migrants, adding 20 million guest workers, mainly as a result of increasing demand for foreign labor in western Asia and Southeast Asian countries with rapidly growing economies.
