What are you talking about, man?

European Commission president Jose Manuel Barroso devoted his annual speech on the state of the European Union to the current economic situation in the EU nations. Addressing the European Parliament, Barroso declared the economic recovery is “within sight” as the euro zone already returning to growth. The longest recession because of the staggering levels of government debt and the general crisis of the banking sector has been already over and the threat of the collapse of the eurozone's single currency has blown over. Barroso provided no new proposals on removal of the financial crisis’ aftermath, but highlighted the need for more rapid implementation of the programs introduced earlier. Also, there is a risk that some leaders might keep out of these financial liabilities. “Some people believe that after this everything will go back to the way it was before. They are wrong. We will not go back to the 'old' normal, we have to shape a 'new' normal,” - the president of the European Commission said. According to him, the main problem is unemployment at 26 million. It should be set about after completing a stalled banking union. One parliament member pointed out that Spain's unemployment total fell by just 31 people last month; the other one mentioned the large number of beggars in the streets. Dutch representative of the European Parliament Laurence Stassen opposed Barroso asking him what planet was he on. This just goes to show that everyone has their own idea of stability.
