Russia welcomes Georgian alcoholic beverages

The Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) has issued official data on shipments of goods produced in Georgia to the Russian Federation. After the embargo on Georgian beverage import was lifted, 5.3 million liters of wine, chacha, and cognac were delivered to Russia. According to Rospotrebnadzor, 8.4 million liters of famous Borzhomi mineral water were sent to Russia. All the produce complies fully with sanitary-hygienic standards. About 40 Georgian producers of alcoholic beverages and two mineral water plants have received quality certificates. Besides, every item has its own official registration; on the whole, 523 documents were released. Recently Rospotrebnadzor has decided to launch the registration procedure of bottled alcoholic beverages and mineral water produced by more than thirty Georgian companies. At the same time, shipments of alcoholic beverages from Abkhazia are rising. This year about 7.8 million wine, cognac, and chacha were delivered to Russia.
