An opportunity to dine out with Warren Buffet was sold for USD 2626411 at benefit auction, CNN Money informs. Trades were held at Ebay auction.
An unknown buyer won the bidding: he raised the rate up to USD 2 345 678. Having won the auction, he decided to boost his payment in order to hit the record cost of a lunch with Warren Buffet. As a result he paid for the lunch USD 100 more than the last year winner.
In compliance with the auction terms, the winner may bring 7 members of his family with him to the lunch. It will be arranged at Smith&Wollensky stakehouse in New-York. The date of the event has not yet been determined.
All the financial means raised form the lunch will be transferred to Glide charity fund.
The right to have lunch with Warren Buffet has been sold on a yearly basis since 2000. First time the winner managed to eat out with the famous investor for USD 25 thousand. This year this amount was the starting rate.
