The Bank of England Head Mario Draghi has become the leader of another rating of the most influential financiers of Europe issued by Financial News. As the publication informs it’s the first time when the choice is made in favor of a banker – the financial regulator representative. A year ago Draghi was at the second place in the list.
Draghi also takes the Chairmain position at the European Financial Stability Board, and on November 01, 2011 he will hold the post of the European Central Bank President (ECB) replacing Jean-Claude Triche.
The second line of the current Financial News rating is taken by the Executive Director of Deutsche Bank Josef Ackermann, at the third place – the Deputy Governor of Goldman Sachs Executive Board Michael Sherwood.
The list of five the most influential financiers includes the Chairperson of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision Stefan Ingves, former manager of the Sweden Central Bank and the Executive Director of Credit Suisse Brady Dougan. As reported by Financial News, the current rating involves 58 bankers who got shortlisted last year too. The list of crisis year 2009 involves only 25 financiers – rating participants of 2008.
