Amazon to launch its own NFT platform

Amazon intends to launch its own NFT platform this spring, Blockworks said, citing competent sources. The project is already under development. The e-commerce giant will reportedly make its bold crypto ambitions public as early as April.

Currently, the world’s largest online retailer is preparing to launch blockchain-based gaming startups. Their participants will be offered to play crypto games and claim free NFTs.

Details about the new NFT initiative are yet to be revealed. At the same time, some sources claim that it could run on Amazon proper rather than on Amazon Web Services (AWS), a popular cloud computing platform, as reported earlier.

In early January 2023, AWS announced that it would partner with the Avalanche blockchain network. The AWS platform is expected to support Avalanche's infrastructure and decentralized application ecosystem. This partnership will make it easier for the NFT platform developers to manage network nodes. Their mission is to accelerate the mass adoption of decentralized technologies that will help government agencies and business projects.
