Finland’s Monthly Inflation Quickens to 0.5% in May, Up from 0.1% in April

Finland’s consumer price index (CPI) accelerated on a month-over-month basis in May 2026, with prices rising 0.50% compared with a modest 0.10% increase in April 2026. The latest data, updated on 15 June 2026, indicate a clear pick-up in short-term price momentum after a relatively subdued start to the spring.

The month-over-month comparison shows that price pressures strengthened in May versus the previous month, when inflation was nearly flat. The “Actual” May reading of 0.50% reflects the change from April to May, while the “Previous” 0.10% figure captures the change from March to April. This step-up suggests that, at least on a monthly basis, inflation dynamics in Finland have become more pronounced heading into the summer period.
