US stock futures were flat on Tuesday, pausing after a strong rally in the previous session driven by sharp gains in mega-cap technology names. Sentiment remained underpinned by easing geopolitical concerns ahead of the latest round of US–Iran peace talks in Doha, Qatar.
In extended trading, shares of AeroVironment surged nearly 21% after the defense contractor reported fiscal fourth-quarter revenue and earnings that beat expectations. By contrast, Concentrix slumped 22.5% after posting quarterly results that missed analyst forecasts.
During Monday’s regular session, the S&P 500 advanced 1.18% and the Nasdaq Composite rose 2.07%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.59% to notch a new record closing high. Alphabet climbed 5% in its first session as a Dow component, following its addition to the index in place of Verizon. Among other large-cap tech and growth names, Nvidia added 1.3%, Amazon rose 3.2%, Meta gained 2.2%, and Tesla jumped 8.5%.
