Argentina’s unemployment rate rose to 7.5% in the fourth quarter of 2025, up from 6.6% in the previous quarter. The rate reached 8.1% for women and 7.0% for men. By region, joblessness was highest in Greater Buenos Aires (8.6%) and the Pampeana region (7.7%). Among the unemployed, 66.8% had completed at most secondary education, while 33.2% had attained some level of tertiary or university education. In terms of job-search duration, 69.9% had been looking for work for up to 12 months, whereas 30.1% had been unemployed for more than a year. Over the same period, the employment rate slipped to 45.0% from 45.4%, while the labor force participation rate held steady at 48.6%.
