Thailand Retail Sales Growth Eases in November

In November 2025, Thailand experienced a retail sales increase of 15.5% compared to the same period the previous year. This represents a slowdown from the significantly higher 66.8% growth seen in the preceding month, indicating the third consecutive month of expansion albeit at a reduced rate. Growth was tempered in sectors such as other retail stores, which reported a change from 134.4% in October to 37.4%, and in non-durable goods, which saw an increase of 4.6% compared to 5.6% previously, particularly affecting the pharmaceutical and medical goods sectors. Conversely, sales in durable goods and motor vehicles and automotive fuel sectors faced declines, with figures dropping to -1.5% from 0.5% and -6.9% from -1.5%, respectively. However, department stores, supermarkets, and general stores exhibited increased activity, with growth accelerating to 5.1% from 2%. On a month-to-month basis, retail sales plummeted by 35% in November following a revised 27.1% rise in the prior period.
