Hungary Industrial Output Grows As Estimated In April

Hungary's industrial production saw a robust rebound in April, according to the latest data from the Hungarian Central Statistical Office released on Thursday.

In April, the volume of industrial production increased by 6.4 percent year-over-year, overturning a 10.4 percent decline from the previous month. This marks the strongest growth since September 2022.

The agency reported significant production increases across most manufacturing subsections, with the most substantial growth observed in the manufacture of food products, beverages, and tobacco products.

However, on a working-day-adjusted basis, industrial output contracted by 2.4 percent annually in April, compared to a 3.1 percent decrease in the prior month.

Monthly data revealed a 0.7 percent decline in industrial production in April, which is a slower reduction compared to the 3.1 percent fall recorded in the previous month.
