US Stocks Close Higher

US stocks experienced a significant uptick on a triple-witching Friday, marked by the S&P 500's 0.9% increase, the Nasdaq 100's 1.4% climb, and the Dow Jones rising over 180 points. This surge continued the upward momentum from the prior session, primarily driven by the strong performance of technology stocks. The AI-related sector, in particular, showed promising recovery signs. Oracle led the way with its shares skyrocketing over 7%, following an agreement with TikTok to offload its US operations to a new joint venture comprising Oracle and the private equity firm Silver Lake. Micron Technology also saw a notable rise of 7%, following its impressive 10% leap the day before. Additionally, Nvidia experienced a gain of more than 3% after reports from Reuters indicated the Trump administration is assessing the possibility of the company selling its advanced AI chips to China. Conversely, Nike faced a setback, with its shares dropping 11% due to lower-than-expected revenue from China and the impact of increased tariffs on gross margins.
