Uruguay Jobless Rate Steady in November

In November 2025, Uruguay's unemployment rate remained stable at 7.3%, consistent with the previous month. Joblessness was slightly lower in Montevideo, registering at 7.1%, compared to 7.4% in other regions of the country. Disaggregating by gender, the unemployment rate was 5.8% for men and 9.0% for women. Youth unemployment persisted at a high rate of 24.2% among individuals aged 14–24, whereas the unemployment rate was notably lower for those aged 65 and above, at just 2.0%. Among those employed, 9.3% were classified as underemployed, and 21.8% were not enrolled in social security for their primary job. The nation's labor force participation rate remained at 64.7%, with the employment rate at 60.0%.
