Argentina Trade Surplus Expands in December

In December 2025, Argentina recorded a trade surplus of USD 1,892 million, reflecting an increase from the USD 1,682 million reported in the corresponding month of the previous year. Import values rose by 3.5% year-on-year, reaching USD 5,556 million. This growth was primarily due to a 3.0% surge in the volume of imports, complemented by a slight 0.4% rise in prices. On the export front, there was a 5.7% increase, amounting to USD 7,448 million. This growth was driven by a 6.2% rise in export quantities, although there was a noted 0.5% reduction in prices. Cumulatively, for 2025 up to December, the trade surplus was at USD 11,286 million, a decrease compared to the USD 18,928 million recorded in the equivalent period of 2024.
