New Zealand PPI Output Prices Rise More than Expected

New Zealand’s producer output prices rose 1.6% quarter-on-quarter in the June quarter of 2026, doubling both the previous quarter’s 0.8% increase and market expectations of a 0.8% gain. This was the fastest growth rate since the first quarter of 2025, driven primarily by three sectors: electricity and gas supply (up 11.0%), dairy product manufacturing (up 3.9%), and road transport (up 8.4%), which made the largest contributions to the overall rise.
