Eurozone Bank Lending Picks Up in November

Bank lending to households within the Eurozone increased by 2.9% year-on-year, reaching €7.094 trillion in November 2025. This represents the swiftest growth since March 2023, surpassing market predictions of 2.8%. The rise indicates a sustained recovery in credit demand, encouraged by the European Central Bank's recent policy easing. Business lending saw a similar upswing, growing by 3.1%, marking its most rapid growth since June 2023. Overall, credit expansion to the private sector, including both households and non-financial corporations, accelerated to 3.4% from the previous 3%.
