US Futures Edge Lower Amid Market Caution

US stock futures edged lower on Friday as investors remained cautious while reassessing the outlook for artificial intelligence and related technologies. S&P 500 futures slipped 0.2%, and Nasdaq 100 futures declined 0.5%.

In Thursday’s regular session, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.08%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite gained 0.33% and 0.08%, respectively. Those advances followed an easing of selling pressure in semiconductor stocks after Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang defended the financial health of AI computing provider CoreWeave Inc.

Firms such as CoreWeave have taken on substantial debt backed by suppliers, including Nvidia, prompting concerns that these circular financing structures may be inflating demand artificially. In a separate development, Anthropic reportedly told investors that its third-quarter revenue reached $16.8 billion.

For the week, the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite was on pace to fall more than 2%, while the S&P 500 was down nearly 1%. The Dow, by contrast, was set to post a weekly gain of about 1%.
